It was probably a giveaway, the way that the day before the official start of the NFL’s free agent signing period was itself so hectic. If things were that wild—boldface names released for salary cap reasons, Super Bowl champs and NFC runners-up and others making deals, other big-ticket trades still looming—before the NFL’s sort-of-free market really had a chance to do its chaotic cheap jerseys wholesale thing, it stood to reason that Tuesday would be wild. Of course, this being the NFL, the first day of free agency is always wild. And so, of course, Tuesday was a frantic, make-it-rain anarchy of big free-agent deals. It’s easy to see the Baltimore Ravens, who flipped postseason hero Anquan Boldin on Monday and lost linebackers Dannell Ellerbe (to Miami) and Paul Kruger (to Cleveland) on Tuesday, as victims. But, as USA Today’s Jarrett Bell points out, this is just how the game is played. The NFL’s economy may create parity, but there’s not necessarily any stability to find, here. And so the Ravens signed defensive lineman Chris Canty later in the day, and retrenched in exactly the way that all NFL teams must under these conditions. The players lost may make it easier for the Ravens to keep other key contributors.
